CDC Group Coaching Certificate Program

This program is designed to elevate the coaching skills of Lifestyle Coaches who have been delivering the National DPP Lifestyle Change Program for at least one year. By becoming a Group Coaching Specialist, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently implement group facilitation and behavior change methods.

Program Benefits

• Earn a Group Coaching Specialist certificate and designation upon completion of a final exam
• Connect with other Lifestyle Coaches and Master Trainer facilitators
• Earn the Group Coaching Specialist designation

Group Coaching Competencies

The 6-month-long program will cover 5 core coaching competencies:

1. Building rapport, trust, intimacy, and creating a coaching presence
2. Enhancing communication skills
3. Applying skills specific to groups
4. Cultivating self-management skills
5. Propelling health behavior change

Schedule

• 2026 Spring Training: February 3 – August 4, 2026 (FULL)
• Day/Time: Every Tuesday from 12 – 2 p.m. EST

• 2026 Fall Training: September 17, 2026 – February 2027
• Day/Time: Every Thursday from 1 – 3 p.m. EST

Cost

The Group Coaching Certificate Program Training costs $2500 per person.

A group discount is available for 5 or more trainees.

Is the CDC Group Coaching Certificate Program right for you?

This certificate program is designed for Lifestyle Coaches with at least one (1) year of experience facilitating the National DPP Lifestyle Change Program.

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:

• You have completed Lifestyle Coach training and have delivered at least one (1) full cohort and one (1) full year of the National DPP Lifestyle Change Program.
• You are affiliated with an organization that holds pending, preliminary, full, or full plus CDC DPRP recognition.
• You have reliable access to a computer with a camera and internet.
• You can attend a live virtual class once per week over approximately 6 months.
